Since I have been having a little discussion on the side with a Muslim, Rahman, in relation to an older post (see this note, et seq), this seemed apropos. Join in, if you like, but let’s bring the discussion over here. You can see more of these great cartoons over at Jesus and Mo dot net. The problem that Jesus has with the Qu’ran is precisely the one that always strikes me when I read it — “berating the infidel and fantasising about their punishments.” It doesn’t only border on the sick, it is seriously twisted.

Ah yes, the bible and koran, bringing you religiously inspired snuff porn since the bronze age.
If you use these books to inform your ethics and morality then you are not fit to be a member of a modern, post enlightenment secular democracy and you are in fact among the barbarians at the gates.
Over at WEIT, Jerry Coyne discusses the passing of one poor woman who sent 3 of her sons off on suicide bomb missions.
Some would say that there was something wrong with her, perhaps some sort of psychopathy that perverted the maternal instinct, but I suspect this is but another example of the religious virus propagating itself.
I would never claim that this sort of behaviour is the sole domain of religion, but I do think that you only get good people behaving in such a bestial manner through blind adherence to non evidence based ideologies, with religion having a special place in this pathological pantheon that renders it largely immune to criticism.
Jesus and Mo strips are usually hilarious to say the least and educative at best
Jesus’ criticism of the Koran that it’s poorly expressed. repetitious, contradictory, and over blown applies to the Bible as well.
I don’t care what you say. The Qu’ran says it, I believe it, and that settles it!
I thought this wasn’t up to Jesus and Mo’s usual standard. Usually its critique of religion is based on reality – on something religious people actually say or do. Here the punchline is a fantasy about what Mo would be reading if he were alive – and not very funny for those who have only the vaguest idea what Saw 3D might be about.
