In case you wondered
The picture I am using as a background to this blog is a view through the Glenfinnan Viaduct, a photo taken in August 1990, when Elizabeth and I were on our honeymoon in the British Isles.

A beautiful part of the world. You should’ve called in for a cuppa!
This, Mr. MacDonald, was delightful to see on the first day of spring.
Gorgeous part of the world, and if I had known then who you were and that you were nearby, I certainly would have done. Thank you! I got some pictures of the Queen of Scots crossing the viaduct as well. It is, as you say, beautiful, and since visiting the viaduct, I have been surprised at the number of movies it appears in.
I hadn’t really wondered, but it is a very beautiful place. Don’t get me started about the railway; a far more civilised and environmentally-friendly transport mode than mass car and truck (lorry) travel that replaced it, along with its little city cousin, the tram. Feel about as strongly about that (I’m a utilitarian cyclist, closer to 60 than 50 now) as I do about choice in dying and other life-cycle issues such as reproductive rights (and no bloody religious interference).
