As if it didn’t already have enough problems on its hands, the Vatican has picked a fight with a group you might expect to be among its chief supporters: nuns.
According to the New York Times, Pope Benedict XVI has named a U.S. bishop to lay down the law to “the largest and most influential group of Catholic nuns in the United States, saying that an investigation found that the group had “serious doctrinal problems.”
The Times reports:
Looks like the RCC is determinedly purging itself of whatever redeeming features it had.
Marching ever deeper into the swamp of imebcility..
Soon the RCC will consist of Joey the Rat and nobody else …
FYI – The way you have formatted this post makes it look at first that you, yourself have writen a standard post entitled “Vatican takes on U.S. nuns over gays and all-male priesthood” which when the reader clicks on ‘read more’ unexpectedly takes you to another site.
Then you come back to the front page and think “Why is Kelly McParland posting on Erics blog?”
Well, that’s how it played out for me.
All injustice seems to be built on the premise of inequality and therefore illiberality. Conflict arises because people hold inside their heads values of inequality. Either their values need to change through education or reform, or otherwise their injustices must be stopped.
